This Privacy Policy describes how VolleyStats ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use myvolleystats.app (the "Service"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

VolleyStats does not require you to create an account, provide your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information to use the core app. Match statistics you record are stored locally on your own device and are not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly choose to save a match to the cloud.

2. Local Storage

VolleyStats uses your browser's localStorage API to save your match data, team rosters, preferences, and the current match state persistently on your device. This data:

Never leaves your device unless you use the optional cloud save feature.
Is not shared with us or any third party.
Can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data for myvolleystats.app.

3. Optional Cloud Sync

If you choose to sign in and save match results to the cloud, the match data (scores, stats, team names) you submit is stored on our backend server running PocketBase. This data is associated with your account and is used solely to allow you to access your match history across devices. We do not sell or share this data.

4. Analytics — Umami

We use Umami for website analytics. Umami is a privacy-focused analytics platform. Specifically:

Umami does not use cookies.
Umami does not collect personally identifiable information.
Umami does not track users across websites.
Data collected includes page views, approximate geographic region (country level), browser type, and device type — all in aggregate, anonymous form.

Analytics data is used only to understand how the app is being used so we can improve it.

5. Advertising — Google AdSense

VolleyStats uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to show you relevant ads based on your browsing activity on this and other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting google.com/settings/ads.

6. Third-Party Services

The Service loads the following third-party scripts:

Google AdSense — advertising (see section 5)
Umami Analytics — anonymous usage analytics (see section 4)
unpkg.com — CDN serving the Lucide icon library, PocketBase client SDK, and html2canvas
jsdelivr.net — CDN serving the Marked markdown parser

These services have their own privacy policies and we encourage you to review them.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
